For some reason, our May meeting was long.  We had so much to talk about including the 100th Anniversary Celebration of Southern Potteries, Inc. makers of BLUE RIDGE POTTERY  1917 - 2017.

The club members agreed that we needed to celebrate this event as an Open House at the Bramble on October 4, 2017 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.  We discussed having refreshments and putting on a display of our Blue Ridge Pottery.  This event will be announced in the Erwin Record.   Richard Riggs read out the final words of this celebration on the historical marker that will placed downtown Erwin.  Joey Lewis let us know that there were five applicants for our $500 scholarship.  We will meet the winner at the June meeting.

Just so you know, the Bramble was named after one of the Blue Ridge Pottery plates as seen below.
